Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Can I buy a cabin lot?

Answer:  Lots are not for sale.  They are for annual lease.  The cabins on the lots are sometimes for sale and can be purchased from the owner with landlord approval of the buyer (involves a tenant application).

2.  What are the annual leasing rates?

Answer: Leasing rates are $2000 for Lake Lots, $1800 for Regular Lots, and $3000 for RV Lots (RV lots include electrical hookup (30/50/110) that you pay for, water, and mowing)

3.  Can I build a cabin on an empty lot?

Answer:  There are no more empty cabin lots.  FEMA rules and regulations make it very difficult for anyone wanting to build a cabin these days; however, they will allow RV pads.

4.  Can I achieve membership at your park so that I can go fishing in the lake/river?

Answer:  There is no such thing as "membership" at Schmid Park.  You are either a tenant or you are not.  Only tenants and their chaperoned guests may use the lake/river.

5.  Can I fish at your lake if I have a permit but am not a tenant/guest?

Answer:  No.  Schmid Park is a private lake on private land and this act would be considered trespassing.

6.  Do you allow hunting on your property?

Answer:  No.  At this time, we are merely spectators of the wildlife on the land.  Hunting is not allowed.
